Time: Sunday 1PM-1:50PM Due to Austin’s unique semiconductor–supply‑chain agglomeration effect and its abundant university resources, the high‑tech industry has gradually become the city’s marquee sector—so much so that the region is often nicknamed “Silicon Hills.” This burgeoning tech scene has opened up entirely new career possibilities for Austin’s youth. Many of Austin’s public and private schools have repeatedly earned top honors in FLL (First Lego League), FTC (First Tech Challenge), and FRC (First Robotics Competition) at the state, national, and global levels. Here at the Great Wall Chinese School, our board of directors, teachers, parent volunteers, and student volunteers have collaborated to design a comprehensive robotics curriculum series. We’ve tailored this program specifically for younger students—those below the usual recommended competition age—to give them an early start. Leveraging the hands‑on advantages of our physical classroom, we blend theory with practice so that younger learners interested in robotics competitions can master the necessary concepts and skills in advance. By making learning fun and creative, we hope to spark their passion for invention, unlock their potential, and provide positive guidance for future contests, college choices, and ultimately career paths.
